An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Officer, reporting to the Port Operations Director. This is a 12 month maternity cover contract, and our client is happy to consider this role on either a full time basis or reduced days (over 3 days).

The Communications Officer will be responsible for helping to develop and implement our marketing and internal communications strategy and plans.

Duties include:

• To support the Communications team and Senior Management in delivering internal Communications strategy and plans.

• Lead on social value engagement through working with local charities and developing sustainability initiatives across the business

• Support the marketing activity across the business

• Manage and internal publications and staff communications channels, including our company intranet, staff notices, updating the website and other projects where needed.

• Help to manage the terminals media relationships and ensure effective communications activity.

About you:

• Experience within an internal communications setting

• Ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines

• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all audiences and cultures

• Excellent team player

• Professional and Confident communicator with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact, diplomacy, and persuasiveness

• Ability to work using ones initiative
