Rutherford Briant are looking for a Head of Finance for a well-established business based in Braintree. 

This is a great opportunity for someone to step into a large business where they can gain exposure to various projects around reporting and take responsibility of the finance function. 

Offering hybrid working, a lucrative bonus, a salary up to £65,000 and more. 

Key Responsibilities include: 
  • Manage monthly closings, budget, reforecast and 5 years business plan campaigns
  • Supervise external audits and preparation of annual accounts
  • Lead the month-end for the business and provide any ad-hoc analysis to the business 
  • Managing the internal control annual campaign looking at areas for improvement
  • Improve reporting quality and reporting time of production
  • Reduced significantly the level of past due AR (from 4m€ to 1m€)
  • Be heavily involved in transformation projects and become part of business decisions & strategies
  • Manage controlling, accounting, credit management and the wider finance team 
  • To provide internal and external stakeholders with accurate, reliable, and timely financial information and analysis of the organisations and individual project finances.
  • Lead and co-ordinate the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Responsible for the reporting against progress of set financial KPIS's to the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees. 
  • Oversee the organisation's cash forecasting and treasury function, building and maintaining relationships with third party stakeholders.
  • Provide information to the Senior Leadership team to assess the financial risk of new tenders and other funding opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Senior Operational Managers.
  • Support the induction of the organisations management team to ensure compliance and understanding of financial policies and procedures and provide training when necessary.
  • Line manage and develop the Finance management team, ensuring that all activities are carried out in conjunction with any legal and regulatory requirements.
