Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Accounts Manager, you will…
- Oversee all aspects of accounts preparation, including reviewing financial statements and the work of both in-house and offshore team members
- Guide and support junior team members by providing clear feedback and updates to senior managers and directors
- Delegate tasks effectively, giving clear instructions and managing team workloads
- Monitor job schedules to ensure deadlines and targets are consistently met
- Handle client issues as they arise and assist team members with routine client matters
- Step in to prepare accounts when needed
- Support management and other ad hoc reporting as required
Requirements:
As an Assistant Accounts Manager, you will need…
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- At least 5 years of experience working in accountancy, ideally within a public practice environment
- Proficient in a range of accounting software, including CaseWare Accounts, QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage
- Solid technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and risk understanding, with the judgment to know when to escalate complex issues
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with care and discretion
- Proficient in IT and confident using accounting and business software
- Sharp attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
- Committed, adaptable, and team-oriented willing to support colleagues, delegate effectively, and take ownership of tasks and projects
