We are delighted to be working with a dynamic and evolving accountancy and advisory firm based in London, who are looking to bring a proactive and detail-driven Senior Finance Assistant into their internal finance team. Responsibilities
As a Senior Finance Assistant, you will…
- Assist with monthly financial close activities, including preparing journals and supporting the production of management reports.
- Reconcile daily cash movements and banking activity to ensure accurate financial records.
- Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders through tailored financial reports covering performance, debtors, and departmental spend.
- Review staff expenses and credit card activity, ensuring compliance with internal policies before processing.
- Manage supplier invoices and payments, resolving any discrepancies quickly to maintain smooth supplier relations.
- Support the payroll billing cycle and contribute to accurate processing of staff-related financial matters.
- Act as a key point of contact within the finance team, providing cover and ad-hoc support when required.
- Play an active role in identifying opportunities to refine and improve internal finance processes.
Requirements
As a Senior Finance Assistant, you will need…
- A recognised finance qualification (preferably Level 4 AAT) or progress towards ACCA/ACA/CIMA.
- Experience working in an internal finance role with exposure to reporting and reconciliations.
- Competence in handling month-end tasks and preparing supporting financial information.
- Excellent accuracy and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to use functions for analysis and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to engage with colleagues across departments.
