Management Accountant (Part time) – 12-Month Fixed Term Contract Location: Cambridge At Rutherford Briant, we’re supporting a organisation within the insurance sector, recognised for its strong financial governance, collaborative culture, and commitment to continuous improvement. They are seeking a Management Accountant on a 6-month fixed-term contract to support the finance team through a busy period of reporting, analysis, and transformation activity.
As a Management Accountant, you will:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insightful variance analysis and commentary.
- Partner with business leaders to support commercial decision-making and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
- Support audit preparation and contribute to a strong internal control environment.
- Help drive process improvements within reporting, systems, and data integrity.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support across key projects, including finance transformation and automation initiatives.
As a Management Accountant, you will need:
- Proven experience in a management accounting or similar finance role (insurance or financial services experience highly desirable).
- Part or fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or reporting systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Workday).
- A proactive and adaptable approach, comfortable working in a fast-paced, change-driven environment.
