At Rutherford Briant, we are partnering with a well-established and forward thinking organisation seeking a Finance Manager to join their Financial Reporting team in a key leadership role. Supporting the Senior Finance Manager, you will take ownership of delivering accurate management reporting, strengthening financial controls, and leading a team responsible for providing high quality financial insight across the Group.
As a Finance Manager, you will:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Management Accountants, driving performance and continuous improvement. Oversee the production of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reporting, and detailed financial commentary. Review monthly KPIs and ensure they accurately reflect financial performance and operational outcomes. Analyse variances against budget, forecast, and prior year results, partnering closely with Finance Business Partners and senior stakeholders. Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting through collaboration with wider finance teams. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining strong financial controls. Approve journals and support robust governance processes across the finance function. Support year end audit preparation and act as a key contact for external auditors. Manage intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting cycles. Ensure compliance with FCA client and insurer money regulations.
As a Finance Manager, you will need:
Proven experience within a finance leadership, financial reporting, or management accounting role. Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial controls and reporting processes. Experience managing or mentoring finance professionals within a team environment. Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Confident communication skills with the ability to influence both finance and non finance stakeholders. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
